‘Talk, plan, live’ this Dying Matters Week

A drop-in event encouraging people to talk and plan for the end of life will be held at The Mill as part of this year’s Dying Matters Week, which runs from May 18th to 24th.

The event, which takes place on Tuesday May 19th from 11am to 2pm, will welcome experts to talk about legal matters, organ and tissue donation, planning end of life care, and funeral plans.

On Friday May 22nd the Civil Service Local will also be at The Mill between 10am and 11.30am to talk to people facing life-shortening illnesses about issues including property matters, tax, benefits and bereavement and funeral costs. These sessions are hosted by the service on a monthly basis at The Mill.

The Mill’s volunteer advisor service also operates each week day between 10am and 4pm throughout the year. The volunteers offer a friendly face to chat things over with, provide information about hospice services, or give a helping hand to point you in the right direction of other organisations who might be able to help.
