Our fantastic team of volunteer advisors give their time to support visitors to The Mill who might benefit from sourcing reliable information or advice around serious illness or bereavement, or would simply like a friendly face and a listening ear to chat things over with.

Whilst enjoying a meal or drink in our cafe, visitors can meet with the advisors and access information via iPads and other materials.

Working in this way, we’re able to help people affected by life-shortening conditions sooner, and continue our relationship with patients who have been discharged from formal St Catherine’s services. Our aim is to help people help themselves and each other to live better and more independently with serious conditions.

We also want to help make St Catherine’s a more familiar place in the community – breaking down the barriers which can still surround the word hospice.
